LIGNA Hannover 2026

The name "LIGNA" is derived from the Latin word "lignum," which means "wood." The trade fair carries this name to emphasize its focus on the forestry and woodworking industries, as well as wood processing. The LIGNA is an international trade fair for the forestry and woodworking industries, held every two years at the Hanover Exhibition Grounds in Germany. The Hanover Exhibition Grounds are among the largest and most modern in the world, covering an area of around one million square meters. LIGNA was first held as an independent fair in 1975; prior to that, it was a subsection of the Hanover Fair, and has since become one of the most important industry trade fairs.
