2024 Report: IAPCO Members Delivered €17.8 Billion in Global Economic Impact

On Global Meetings Industry Day (3 April 2025), the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) reported record-breaking performance for 2024. Its 92 accredited member companies, operating from 180 offices worldwide, delivered 19,469 events, generating €17.8 billion in economic impact — up €3.54 billion (19.8%) from 2023.

This growth, fuelled by 2,425 additional conferences year-on-year, underscores the sector’s vital role in economic development, knowledge exchange, and cross-sector innovation. The 2024 results span major fields including healthcare, academia, research, science, engineering, energy, finance, technology, and manufacturing.

Forward bookings remain strong, with 1,969 conference contracts already secured without confirmed destinations — a sign of confidence in the market. IAPCO’s rigorous peer-reviewed accreditation continues to attract new members, reflecting a premium placed on quality by associations, destinations, and organising committees.

The findings in IAPCO’s 2024 Annual Member Economic Impact and Business Strategy Report point to a resilient, expanding global meetings industry, strategically positioned to influence its future trajectory while maintaining high standards of quality and sustainability.
